The St. Clare Knights of Columbus hosted their 2021 Family Cookout on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Texas Avenue Park in Webster. We were blessed with a nice breeze, no rain, great music, a variety of games, and an abundance of food. Approximately 65 people attended the event. A special thank you to all those that made the day possible by hauling equipment, setting up, cooking, bringing side dishes, cleaning up, packing up, and hauling equipment back.

The 2021 Knights Volunteer at Galveston County Food Bank on June 12. The event was attended by the Knights and members of St. Clare Parish including several from the Parish Youth Ministry with a total of 26 people attending. This was our first time attending the Galveston County Food Bank and our volunteers completed their work in record time. It was a very successful event and we look forward to returning.
The St. Clare Knights of Columbus presented the 2021 Scholarship Awards to the recipients during a ceremony on Sunday June 6 after mass, and on Thursday June 10 before their Membership Meeting. The St Clare Knights began awarding scholarships to deserving high school graduates in 2009; since then, the Knights have funded scholarships totaling more than $54,000.
This year the St. Clare Knights awarded 4 scholarships totaling $6,450 including the $3,000 James & Elizabeth Witten Scholarship. James Witten was a 4th degree Knight, and the funding of this scholarship is one of the many ways his family honors his and his wife’s memory.
Scholarship awards are sent directly to the admitting school in August to be used for any expense posted by the school for the student. Congratulations to all of our Scholarship Winners, we are very proud of all of you!
